Visual and Singing Meditation with Katie

12:30-1:30pm PST

In this workshop we will explore two ancient forms of meditation: Visual and Singing Chants.

In this restorative and relaxing workshop we will learn simple chants and the process of interacting with art as visual meditation, called Visio Divina in ancient times. No experience in singing or meditation is needed. Katie Ketchum directs the herchurch choir in San Francisco and teaches painting with Jennifer Mantle. She has been practicing Visual and Singing Meditation for many years. Bring along a pen and paper. Limited to 8 participants.

Young herchurchers' Panel

Join us for a conversation with the younger contingent of herchurch about their journey to this community, their relationship to the Divine Feminine, and their vision for the future. Led by Emma Thomas, who is an art world professional, a recovering Catholic, a ukulele player, and an artist who is getting used to calling herself one. She loves to sing in the herchurch choir and play in the Art Womb.

Joy Cards with Linda

1:30-2:30pm PST

Join Linda for a fun, easy, joy-boosting session making small cards for our JOYS! Based on collaging one card for each letter of the alphabet, this workshop leans in to the painting “Our Lady of Joy” (our image for the festival) and invites participants to make small collages to remind us of what is bringing us joy. Get out your scissors, glue, collage materials and embellishments and join the fun! Linda Palmstrom is an avid art-maker and knitter. She is certified in the Color of Woman Intentional Creativity and loves to share joy through her art.

Goddess Rosary Introduction and Meditation

2:45-3:15 pm PST

The goddess rosary is a contemplative practice of reciting prayers honoring and connecting to the Divine Feminine. This session will begin with an introduction to the practice from Pastor Stacy, and then priestesses Alice and Christine will lead us as a community in reciting the prayers together. Bring a goddess rosary if you have one, but it’s also ok to just show up and be present!

DO POEMS GROW ON TREES? YES, AND THEY ARE ALSO UNDER OUR FEET:

A poetry reading & conversation about writing practice and inspiration with herchurch Resident Poet, Kit Kennedy

2:45-3:15 pm PST

Poetry-making is the dance of inspiration, deadline, fun/chance & collaboration. In short, poetry is serious fun. Join Kit in an intimate setting to hear some fresh and well-loved poetry. Questions and conversation to follow. Kit Kennedy is short, queer & unabashedly odd.

Closing

Join Pastor Stacy and our herchurch musicians for a short closing ritual and some music to send us off after our wonderful day together.
