Full Moon Drum Circle

October is the Hunter’s Moon.

After the harvest moon / full corn moon comes the hunter's moon, in the preferred month to hunt summer-fattened deer and fox unable to hide in bare fields. Like the harvest moon, the hunter's moon is also particularly bright and long in the sky, giving hunters the opportunity to stalk prey at night. Other names include the travel moon and the dying grass moon.

All genders are welcome to this drumming circle and ritual. Bring your own drum/instruments- though some drums are available. In person in the herchurch sanctuary.

Masks available. Please stay home if you are experiencing symptoms of illness.

Drum pictured is a djembe. This goblet-shaped drum is traditionally carved from a single piece of African hardwood and topped with an animal skin as a drumhead. In western understanding, the drum belongs to the membranophone class of instruments in the percussion family. They are called membranophones because sound is created by vibration of membrane stretched tight.
