The history of the April Pink Moon starts with a flower. It got its name from ground phlox, which is a pink flower and the most common bud in North America. The first full moon of spring after the spring equinox is called the Paschal Full Moon, which is this year's Pink Moon.

Drum pictured is a djembe. This goblet-shaped drum is traditionally carved from a single piece of African hardwood and topped with an animal skin as a drumhead. In western understanding, the drum belongs to the membranophone class of instruments in the percussion family. They are called membranophones because sound is created by vibration of membrane stretched tight.
