Goddess Harvest Festival: She Will Rise!
November 10-12, 2017
In celebration of the harvest season, herchurch is hosting their annual Goddess Harvest Festival. The weekend will be filled with workshops, live music, ritual and celebration. Admission is free. During the festival, vendors specializing in hand-crafted jewelry, crystals, oils, books, music, photography and art will be on hand to share and sell their wares. On Saturday and Sunday delicious meals will be available at a nominal cost. Scroll down for complete schedule and workshop descriptions.

The festival includes The Friday evening art opening were 20 artists depict the theme: She Will Rise: empowering creative persistence and resistance. SEE CALL FOR ENTRIES
Saturday and Sunday — free workshops (include drumming, yoga, reiki, goddess painting, writing, totem mask making, chanting circle, nature photography as spiritual practice and local activism), her café, rituals, music, concerts, poetry slam, Liturgy of the Divine Feminine, a panel presentation/discussion and much more. All designed to empower individuals and community to rise up with feminine-infused power to creatively persist and resist the regression of a domination system that is fueled by misogyny, racism, xenophobia and bully practices.
6pm -ANEW Gallery opens
7pm- Opening Ritual for She Will Rise! Rituals and chanting begins in the sanctuary and proceeds to ANEW Gallery for a reception with Artists, Poetry, Performance art to Celebrate the images depicting “She Will Rise.”

In this writing workshop, published author Lana Dalberg will provide instruction, guided visualizations, and a variety of writing prompts to inspire heart-centered writing. If there is time, we will share selections from what we have written. The workshop is limited to 12 people, and out of respect to participants, late-comers will not be admitted.

Join certified somatic sex educator, Shauna Farabaugh, to explore how mindful awareness of pleasure in our bodies can increase our resilience and allow us to stay connected to joy and hope in the midst of these stressful, traumatic times. While Shauna will share a pinch of the neuroscience around how this is possible, most of the workshop will be spent exploring simple tools and rituals you can start using immediately to increase pleasure, vitality and resilience in your daily life. Choosing pleasure is resistance–and it’s good for you!

In this introductory workshop, you will have the opportunity to let go of some of the stress of every day life through group drumming. Syncing up our individual rhythms to create a group beat releases us from our individual worries and promotes a sense of connection and interdependence. You will also have the opportunity to explore your unique voice through experimentation with different drums and rhythms within the safety of a large group. Together, we will improvise, connect and, most important, make noise and have fun!

Healing and Owning Your Activism: A Guided Energy Healing Meditation with Reverend Alice Martin

What does it mean to be politically active? How do you see yourself participating to help bring about positive change for our society and for the world? In this intense political and life changing times, we may feel like we are not doing enough or that what we do makes no difference.
This workshop is a guided energy healing meditation which means that you will be guided through a series of visual tools to help move out inappropriate energy in the form of belief systems, other people’s information and acknowledge any trauma, so that you as a spiritual and physical being can be more in present time and be in affinity with who you are in these challenging times.
T’ai Chi Chih “Joy Thru Movement” with Athene Mantle

In this moving meditation, we will experience the opportunity to deepen our spiritual connection as well as open channels for greater health, a sense of well being and promote longevity. T’ai Chi Chih is simple, easy and fun and is appropriate for all physical abilities with no special clothing required.
Wildlife Photography as Spiritual Practice with Photographer/Pastor Stacy Boorn

Using nature as your spiritual canvas we will explore ways to photograph via devices and traditional DSLR the essence of creatures, landscapes and macro details of the sacred cosmos. Apps and enhancing one’s aesthetic vision provide creative tools to connect heart and soul and the world around us. The workshop will include a brief slide show “A Splash of Alaska” and hands on information to begin creating your own visual meditation.
Staying Calm in the Midst of the Storm with Elaine Chan-Scherer, LCSW, Psychotherapist

Drawing on her years as a therapist, Elaine Chan-Scherer will share what she has found to be highly effective tools and techniques for common challenges like anxiety and stress. There will be plenty of time to address individual questions- “ask a therapist!”
Goddess Painting Honoring the Black Madonna with Katie Ketchum and Jennifer Mantle

Join us for another afternoon encountering the Divine Feminine with prayers, paint and play! We’ll invoke the Black Madonna, honored in many traditions around the world and by many names. No painting experience or talent needed! Supplies are included but feel free to bring a canvas if you wish to use that instead of the watercolor paper which will be provided.
Introduction to Kundalini Yoga with Alison Newvine, MFTI
Sunday, 2-3:15pm in the Music Room
Kundalini Yoga is a practice that utilizes physical postures (asana), dynamic breathwork (pranayam), chanting (mantra) and meditation to balance the energies of the body and focus the mind. The Kundalini energy, or energy of awareness, lies coiled like a serpent at the base of the spine and can be awakened with our intention and practice. This class offers chair yoga option and modifications for all postures in an effort to be as accessible as possible.
Spirit Voices Of Light/Totem Animals a Mask-Making Journey With Totem Animals with Deborah K Tash

Explore your connection with totem animal allies with Artist Deborah Tash. Using a combination of Shamanic journeying and the creation of masks, each participant will have the opportunity to tap more deeply into their own inner wisdom and truth with the guidance of a totem animal ally.
